Engineco913 has posted a Seatbelt Pledge that YOU, my fellow Nation-ites, can sign.

No, you don't have to wear a gown that opens up the back

Yes, you can keep your shoes on

No, it won't hurt, it won't even pinch a little

No, it doesn't come in different colors

But yes, it DOES come with side effects......a healthier and whole fire and EMS service; the members of which will be more likely to go home to their loved ones if they adhere to the promise they are about to sign.

There are less than 100 signatures on this pledge, and I can't for the life of me fathom why?
There should be THOUSANDS of signatures by now. Save your brothers and sisters, save yourselves, and sign it.

What are you waiting for? To come home in a box?

If I sign it again can I post a picture of myself in a little red open back number with my shoes off?
only if you're handing out the color coordinated blindfolds to go with....

:)
ok....for the last time....you don't sign on HERE....you have to go to the OTHER discussion to sign.....
Where is it that we sign? Here?

Or here???
Don't make me hunt you down Joe.......
no Capt---in NYS guess who's exempt from the seat belt law?......yes, that's right.....emergency services.
Hence the pledge.
I know there are other states which don't require their first responders to wear them, but it's 7:00 a.m. and I don't have the list in front of me.
Capt I would love to agree with your theory about the lawmakers, but unfotunately thats not the case. Read in the pledge the comment from Bull. He said he agreed with everything BUT wearing his seat belt. Said nobody can make him wear a seat belt. My thinking to him is if you won't wear it, and noone can make you, HAVE A NICE LIFE OUTSIDE THE FIRE SERVICE!!! This thinking and mentality has killed too many of our brothers and sisters on a yearly basis.
I am thankful for all the signatures we have so far, it shows a commitment by some. The pledge was sent as a message by FFN to ALL members. We have a hell of a lot less signatures than the 15,000 members on the site who got the message. Please help the cause and have your friends on FFN sign the pledge. We have scratched the surface so far, but it will take a majority of members before a lawmaker will take it seriously.
Okay here is my 2 cents for the people who say that seat belts geat in the way of gearing up.

Put your gear on before you get on the truck and when you tank up on the way to the scene put your arms through the shoulder harness but leave the waist belt unhooked. Then when you get to the scene unhook your seat belt and fasten your waist belt. then get off the truck.

By the way BUMP!
