Pierce or Seagraves which is better?

im taken a poll wether pierce trucks or seagraves trucks are better so let me no what you think

I truely like seagrave older verisons but i like peirce newer verison of the trucks so it is a toss up for me

Well I like Pierce. I don't like Seagraves though. But really I like American LaFrance the best.

Just my opinion here. we have 5 Pierce trucks, 4 engines and 1 ladder. We also have 6 non Pierce trucks, all be it non of them are a Seagraves but by far the best out of the bunch are the Pierce apparatus. They all have their problems I agree but the Pierce seams to have fewer. They are put together much better and seam to hold up longer than the other manufacuters. We will never buy anything but a Pierce from this point forward. We have learned our lesson.

im not crazy about buying a name we have 2 grumman love them both seagrave to me has always been an ugly truck

I didn't like seagrave because I thought it was a Sterling. I think it is a nice lookin truck : )

All I can say is that when I got in this business 30 yrs ago we ran 2 open cab seagraves out of my station and there is not a new truck we have today that is as good, easy to drive and pump. We always got the fire out without any fancy stuff. We have a few 90's vitage Pierce pumpers that are not bad, but better than the newest rigs we run now.
