The first ever tri services panel discussion of post traumatic stress issues using a representative from Fire Fighting, Law Enforcement and E.M.S. was held in Toronto Ontario on 09 February 2008. Shannon Pennington on the webiste who is a type 3 ptsd survivor and his other two partners from law enforcement and ems, took part in a two day event sponsored by the Tema Conter Memorial Foundation in Canada. On day one of the conference aprox 200 attendees from all three services listened to the individual stories of ptsd survival from those who have gone through the experience and have lived to tell about it. On day two, a gala gathering brought large numbers from all three services from across Canada together to raise funds for additional educational efforts by the Tema Conter Memorial Foundation. Mr. Pennington is the administrative chief of North American Fire Fighter Veterans Network on the web where project F.I.R.S.T. S.T.E.P. H.O.P.E. care for the caregivers is on line 24/7/365 with information on stress, acute stress and job burnout along with information and education on ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder).
