Hi all,
I have been pondering the idea of becoming a ff. I am an EMT-I now and love doing rescue. I work hand and hand with firefighters and absolutley love working with them. I am part of their family, just more like an extended family. I want to be a "true" family member. I am a little nervous because I really don't want to fight fires. I would rather just stay on the rescue. Is this a possibility or should I just forget the idea all together? I love the idea of having job stability and 'round here, it seems like the best place to see the action is through the fire company. My last company just lost it's 911 contract and now I am having to uproot to a new company as Non-Emergent Transport is just not for me. I would appreciate your thoughts and idea's. If this is a good decision, what are the steps I need to take?
