Has anyone else seen the Tomcat Compact Rescue Vehicle (
http://www.fosterrescue.com/products/TOMCAT%20On-Line%20Brochure.pdf ) from Foster Rescue? It's a tiny rescue vehicle with a ton (not literally) of equipment on board and is capable of going into some very tight places.
The Korean fire Service actually has pumpers built on a similar chassis and has been using "midget pumpers" for a long time due to the narrow roads and alleys here.
I'm intrigued by the idea of designing a Heavy Rescue "Mother Ship" around the CRV, giving the Rescue Company the "Fire Power" of the heavy rescue vehicle for any situation, but the flexibility to deliver its tools to the scene, even when in a tight spot. the CRV is available in electric or gas, so I envision an electric version in the back of the Rescue Rig and plugged in when in quarters and enroute, then when it's on scene the operator unplugs it and drives it down the ramp and to the exact location where a winch, generator, scene lighting of CAFS is needed. Even in some very tight spots.
My POV here in Korea is a "Towner" which is the same size chassis, and I can do a 360degree circle in standard American two-lane road and never get close to the gutters on either side.
Anyone have any thoughts on this idea?
