LEATHER HELMET LOVE
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT LEATHER HELMETS? ARE THEY SAFE AS THE NEW COMPOSITES MATERIAL? I SEE HELMETS FROM THE 60'S BEING SOLD ON EBAY. PEOPLE SEEM TO WHERE THE JUST TOBE COOL. IF MY DEPT WANTED TO GET OLD BEAT UP LEATHER HELMETS, BESIDES EBAY WHERE CAN WE FIND A LARGE NUMBER OF THEM NO MATTER HOW BAD THE ARE? I THINK IT WOULD BE COOL TO REDUE THEM AS A GROUP, PROMOTING TEAMWORK AND COMRODERY.

Leathers a nice thing. If you want to get a bunch of leather helmets together and get them pickled up, buy them new. Most of the leather helmets that you see that look beat are just that, beat. Most of them aren't NFPA compliant and don't provide adequate protection. Save your money and buy new!!! If you want them all to get the used look, give it time, and then you will have your own helmet with your own war stories to tell.
