Hello to All from the Redneck Hills down under in the fried chicken smelling back wood redneck Country of Chestnut Ridge Volunteer Fire Department in Morgan County TN. I live in a small area called Chestnut Ridge located in Morgan County just on the west and Northwest end of the county" Known as the Morgan County Fentress County Line of 62 West as your going west on 40 like your going down to Crossville or into Jamestown. Anyway we have all kinds of beautiful farm land to go around and plenty of hog and cow if you want hamburgers or if you want bacon or something for your breakfast of a morning. If your lucky when your in the backwoods here bring you a wheel barrel and the squirrals will feel them up for you with acorns. Man everytime the wind blows acorns bat you in the head and every were. But the best part about it all is in the fall when the leaves change color and your just getting up to a good smelling cup of coffee and smelling that finger licken fried eggs and chicken. Boy its all good. I love it. It reminds me of my child hood back in the days when all I drink was Well water and when it snowed my grandma would make the best wood stove chilli you could ever try hommade. We even got a big snow one time and I got to make Snow Cream. But the memories still go on and that's the best part about it all. But anyway our volunteer Fire department invited us to their training at their Fire Hall and well we here at Chestnut Ridge Decided to go. We winded up going down to a place were there was suppose to be water and winded up being none. So Deer Lodge showed us how to do their truck and man it was a good one, beautiful truck just the engine alone had me from hello. Roy got into the truck and said all you do is line the batteries up and then push in the button and bingo the trucks started. Then you go out to the side and I think its the tank to fill lever you pull it out and that is how there water is started. Well then we decided for them to use our truck and there wasn't much to it actually just the turn the key ignition real simple start. And then all you had to do was do the tank and fill button as well and press the back lever down and you got it. Is it possible though that if you put to much pressure on it at one time can it overload the truck and tare something up? IDK that is what I thought I wouldn't for sure. Anyway we were going to set an Air Evac LZ and ended up being canelled due to low cloud ceiling. After the training we ended up getting a real call saying there was smoke in the basement on Rugby road and then got cancelled when we got close to it but still had to do a report on it, even though it was canceled dint make any sense to me but whatever, all and all had a fun training and never will miss any of the trainings at all especially now that I am like a paid firefighter working on all fire and rescue calls. Have a great day out there everyone.
