I think it needs to be taken as what it is... an entertaining show centered around a group of firefighters. and not a documentary on firefighting... that said i enjoy it and think its funny

I agree with Bryan. It's a funny show and it's easy to get hooked on....but it's not really how fire departments are run. Some people have said it gives FDs a bad name but seriously, it's a fictional show, and it's all for the drama that keeps people addicted and entertained.
I think its a good entertaining show all in all. I also think people realize its just entertainment just like Ladder 49, Backdraft, Towering Inferno, etc. The same was said about the show Saved making medics look bad but the story was good and most people know thats not how EMS is either.
When all is said and done, it is scripted fiction. There is no doubt some people look at what they see and believe thats what happens. Face it, whens the last time they had a ghost of a brother who died and came back to haunt them? The show is great, but they dress it up with enough fiction to realize its fiction.
I love the show. I'm missing it already. D@$%! writers strike put it way behind for this season and now all we get are little 5 minute shows. Woe is me!
I was really excited about it when it was first announced. However, as the show progressed it became more about Dennis Leary than firefighters. Too much emphasis on sex, drugs and alcohol. Such a shame.
