I thought it'd be pretty cool to share stuff we've learnt, that's unusual, but works.

Let me begin with an example....

MARZIPAN- World's Most Successful Contraception
How many people knew that marzipan is the world's most successful contraception?

Here's a link to marzipan and its uses according to Wikipedia- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marzipan (Which makes no reference to the below, so you really have to question how good a resource Wiki really is)

I learnt this one, this week.

When a couple get married, they have the traditional wedding cake which is covered in Marzipan.

They may have a slice on the wedding day and then the new wife will take a large piece home and put it in the cupboard.

On the night of the wedding, the couple have sex, but after that, it starts to become less frequent, to the point where it no longer happens.

This is because of marzipan.

The cake in the cupboard (That the wife put there) is coated with marzipan and it is giving off an odour that only females can smell, and it slowly erodes away their sex drive. The chemicals and other stuff in marzipan interact with the wife's hormone's causing this effect.

The longer it sits there, the more of the marzipan odour is given off, and less sex the female will feel like having.

All because of marzipan....

I don't know about others here, but that explains a lot to me, and I had no clue what the cause was.

Anything unusual others have learnt that they want to share?

whenever I have visitors from the north, I advise them that upon seeing an alligator that they are to lay in the grass and act like an alligator and they will be ignored.

No one has been injured to this point.
Urine may repel crocs, but the ammonia in it will attract scorpions!
So it must work!

I've heard it works for elephants as well- seen any damnthing?
If there is a good hot fire in the chimney, water is the absolute last resort. Throwing water anywhere near a hot woodstove/fireplace can cause the woodstove to crack, or the bricks to "explode" from the sudden cooling.
Clean the stove out of all burning material. Use a couple lengths of heavy chain attached to a cable (use a beaner to hold them) and use the weight of the chains to bust through the blockage in the chimney. Our job is to remove the fire from the chimney, not clean the chimney for the homeowner.

Chimney bombs are another alternative for putting a fire out in a chimney. (some use chimney flares also which will starve the fire of oxygen and essentially put the fire out) For a fire thats contained to the chimney, I prefer to let it burn and use the chains to bust through. Using a mirror to look up the chimney it is much easier to see burning material.

Always use a canvas drop cloth to protect the floor around the stove or fireplace. Always have a water can available. Always take the burning material outside and ALWAYS make sure you put it somewhere where you can soak it with water before you leave and it isn't dumped in the woods or close to the house.
When you see a croc in CT or a Gator thats not in a zoo, let me know :):)
But do you not see them because of people pissing around their houses?

There's some food for thought and lively debate with the boys on that one when you're half pissed one night....!
and here I thought they were simply marking "their territory"
but the ammonia in it will attract scorpions!
Is that for real?
Can't be. I never saw a single scorpion near my lemon tree - and I used it as a toilet a couple of times a week!
lol
Hmmmmm....Marzipan eh....Damn I thought it was all wedding cakes that shut off womens sex drives....I noticed that it could be counteracted by bright shiny bobbles.....expensive bobbles.....LOL
your going to be out diluting all the spots you pissed in around the yard now huh?
