Flash floods and flooding is the number one weather related killer, the word flash from dictionary means quick flood with that is quick rising water, this even occurs when thunderstorms or heavy rains train over the same area or county dropping one to two inches an hour, this will cause the water to rise in creeks and streams and could possibly flood farm land or possibility if you live in a low line area this could be a problem to houses in the path near a Lake or river. If you come near or to a flooded or closed road turn around don't drown. If your in a low line area and a flash flood or flood watch is issued watch for heavy rains that could cause flooding. If a Flood or Flash Flood warning is issued then move to higher ground quickly. Never wait it out, it could be too late.
