Paid per call

Looking for information on how paid per call staffing works in your area. How much are you paid? Are you paid per hour or just per call. Do you supplement a full time paid system? Where are you located? Are you required to be on station at the time of call to be paid? Any other information would be appreciated.

We get paid for 2 hrs on every call that we transport. The pay varied depending on your level as an EMT. We are a volunteer dept and no one stays at the station. We have 2 EMT's on call from 7p-5a every night. If you are on call and get called out, you get paid for 2 hrs even in you don't transport. Other EMT's that show up to help do not get paid unless they help transport. We all try to make sure everyone has the chance to transport if they want to.

We are a combination department Fire and EMS. Full time and part time get a hourly rate.
Our pay per call is set up a little different than most. We have 8 full time people and about 12 part time people, the rest (about 20) aer volunteer but we get stipen (paid per call). Each run we make we get $10 and for each EMS run we make we get $30. Volunteers can also work a shift and get $10 for each 3 hours on duty plus any runs. We pay out once per year, usually in the first week of Dec. We are located in Northern KY, and have had paid personell sence 2001.
