I'm planning on going through the Fire Academy next year. I know you can't really have a job since you will be at the academy M-F from 5AM-5PM. So I was wondering what some of you did about your bills? The only one I'm worried about is my car payment and car insurance. I still live at home and luckily my parents don't charge rent, and I don't have any other bills.

So I was just wondering what some of you did, if you did anything at all?

Thanks,

Marques

Well theres not much time to work a paying job with that type of schedule, how long is your academy for, maybe ask mom and dad for a loan tell your done, or start working a lot more and bank your money for when you take the academy.
From what I heard it's only 2 months, I already started saving, but I know it's a long process to get hired and chances are slim that I will get hired right away so I don't want to run out of money.
You can get a part time job after your out of the academy and waiting for a full time job.
True, if it comes down to it, I can go back to the job I am at now. I'm pretty sure they would hire me back. I've been here for 10 years and never had any problems.
