OK...before I get the ridicule from those to macho to admit they have a soft spot in their heart, hear me out. I took my girlfriend to see the movie Fireproof last night. It is a must see by all firefighters male and female alike. I am not a born again Christian or a "bible thumper". But after 3 divorces, I figured if I want this relationship to work, it was worth two hours of my time. I am so glad I did. While I can still stand here and tell you that all 3 divorces were not my fault, I know what I will change about me and my girlfriend has an idea of what to expect from me after a bad shift and all the other stressors we face. If you can deal with some poor acting and just watch it for the story line I think you will be very impressed. Do yourself and your spouse a favor, go see this movie. What do you have to lose? A couple hours..........

thanks mike
Me too, I have to wait a bit longer in the Philippines for the movie or DVD to show up. I'm looking forward with that movie.
I am not even married or in a relationship, but seeing the movie was overwhelming and I loved it.
I saw facing the giants and it was great. Another movie to see is called the ultimate gift.

Dina
my pleasure.

this movie is worth two hours i would love to go see it again i suggest it for anyone who is married or not it will make you think regardless. GOD BLESS everybody stay safe.
I want to see this movie too. Folks from church are raving about it. I have heard that it is more about relationships & saving a marriage than being a fire fighter but I have heard good things. Every movie isn't Backdraft or even Ladder 49 but I will pay to see the movie in the theater or I will see it when it comes out on DVD. If you want to see a movie with your family that is just CUTE though it also has some good fire fighter moments too I can recommend
Firehouse Dog.

Guys, around here 20 yrs ago there were about 5 drive ins.
They are all gone. There is 1 about 40 miles up the river but they never seem to play any good movies. I once went to a drive in that was also a cow pasture. The screen sat up on stilts on a hillside somewhere in West Virginia. Yup, those were the days!!
I agree on that
I loved the on-call scenes in the movie. I loved that all of their calls weren't huge structure fires in the city. :) lol. I thought it was a good picture of firefighting.

On the other hand, I do think that it was extrememly corny in some parts, and of course the acting was bad.. but that's to be expected with these movies. I thought the super- religious in your face parts could have been done better, in a manner where they would've been appreciated by a larger audience... but hey, I didn't write the movie.

I liked it on the whole.. my boyfriend (at the time) hated it. He made fun of it for atleast a week. So to each his own I guess. I think it's worth watching just for the MVA part. :)
Hey Donnie,

Sorry for the bad luck that you have had in the past. You have to make changes in your life and your girlfriend also has to be understanding on what you do as a firefighter. Not everyone at home realize what we go through in a shift. We all deal with things different and that is just the fact. It is a great movie to go see and everyone needs to take their wives, girlfriends or whoever. It will make you think about how we are living.
It is THAT kind of movie. It was written, directed & produced by a fairly low budget outfit FOR Christian audiences. It was even advertised that way. The theme of the whole film is relationships with your partner and the "religious" inference. WE assumed that since the title was "Fireproof" and the main character was a firefighter that the movie was for US and about US.

I saw the movie. I liked the movie.
I've seen some pretty good nurse movies. Grant it, none of them were in movie theatres and I am not sure if they had plots or not, never the less they were good.
