volunteer firefighter tax credits

Has anyone out there received a letter stating that gov. paterson wants to take away our tax credits on our state taxes so he can spend that money elsewhere. I have sent an email to signal99 and asked them if they had a petition going as of yet. This guys is only looking out for himself and not all of us who risk our lives everyday and don't get a dime,ie: pension,retirement,etc.
