SMOKENPIPESJIM, that was an excellent reply. I feel the same way about my leather helmet and I still (occasionally) wear my 1st leather that I purchased 10 years ago. It was originally used by a member of the FDNY for some years.
QUESTION. When dressing (painting) a leather helmet, what product is used to create the natural leather look? I am going to strip down my leather and paint it natural and red.
I sure will. I'm kind of apprehensive about the phenix but i've been reading the quality of the Carnes has gone down a little since they were bought. I'm searching for a pre 2000 houston on ebay now
This is the N6A I have had for over 5 years and through several repaints and repairs. It's a little bruised up but I would still take it over any of the issued tupperware.

This is my new and first leather. Had it in service a week before it finally got "baptized" last friday night. I have to say I LOVE IT!! Best helmet I've ever worn.
