not that I know of if they have a driver licence.. 18 for us... but heavey dutytraining first then pass then drive...
The requirement for employment is 18, all firefighters are required to drive, so 18 would be the answer in theory. No the city is self insured.
Ours need to be 18 to be hired in and then you have to be with us for a year with a good training attendance, Then comes the Driver Op class that takes anywhere from 8 to 16 weeks depending on whos teaching it, plus then passing the practical and written tests. So as of now we won't let a newbie drive
eighteen in my dept...actually my area...
18 at our dept.
21 for the insurance plus complete understanding of the operation of the pumps. No good getting a truck there if you can't pump it.
18 for use too and must have been tested and done 10 hours of driving traing with an officer before they can drive on their own and its all documented
