I was just curious as to know which brand of pack everyone prefers. Tell which one and why. To get started I like ISI, and maybe because thats what we use and I have always used but i like it.

I've worn SCBAs at two industrial jobs and with two fire departments now, and they've all been Scotts. I wouldn't say they're universal around here, but they seem to be the most common. I've used several different varieties, from the older wire frame to relatively new ones. I like the fact that, despite technology upgrades and design changes, the basic operation/layout remains the same and there's a lot of interchangeability.
We use MSA at my home department...I used interspiros down in texas at the fire academy for the air force and i didnt care to much for them. But thankfully the air force is switching to MSA now.
I have used them both msa and scott and i perfer msa over scott.
I have used several types Dreager, MSA, Scott, and Survivair. Out of the units I have used I like Scott. They have many options available for them including communication, 40mm nato NBC catrige adapters, Quick change cylinders (on the NXG) plus more. The draw back is the the PASS motion detector is at your hip requiring hip motion "the Scott dance" to reset the pre alarm tone even though the pass is in the normal placement. The scott AV3000 mask is the better face piece for comfort and view.
We run msa its reliable and works for us.
We were issued new sets of Interspiros few week ago.
Fells good on back, simple to use, trained with then few times now.
We have a mix of ISI and MSA. The MSA is the newer stuff but if needed we fall back on the ISI. Kinda makes it tough having 2 types laying around. You cannot simply pick stuff up and run you have to look. Which may not be a bad thing. If you also take 5 secs. to check it over. TCSS
DRAGER
We have Interspiros. They work well for us, have had some minor issues but our dealer is usually right on top of things. If issues are discovered, our dealer lets us know, when the fix is in, our dealer is at the door with it. If we can do some upgrades cheap, they call us.....good dealers in this business are key.
we use scott. We use them due to interchnageability with our mutual aid depts. and that all I have ever used
We use MSA on one dept. And Scott 2.0's on the other I am on. I like the scott and MSA, but I don't care for the face mask regulator rail. It always causes the reg. to stick to the mask and then you are stuck with no air what so ever. Anyone else have that problem?
We use Drager
