It is with great sadness that the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District announces the loss of Chief James R. Payne of Wheat Ridge Fire. Chief Payne was injured in a fall at his home on April 5, 2008 and passed on August 26, 2008 as a result of this injury. Chief Payne’s family appreciates all the thoughts and prayers over the last 5 months.
A viewing will be held Friday, August 29th at Olinger Chapel at 2900 Wadsworth Blvd. Wheat Ridge, Colorado 80033 from 4:00 p.m. to 8: 00 p.m.
A service honoring Chief Payne will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2008, 9:00 a.m. at Faith Bible Chapel, 6210 Ward Road, Arvada Colorado, followed by a procession and burial at Crown Hill Cemetery, 2900 Wadsworth Blvd., Wheat Ridge, Colorado. Chief Payne's family would like to welcome all to share in honoring his life.
There will be a reception at Station #1, 3880 Upham Street, Wheat Ridge, Colorado following the burial.
