training, training and more training. Be the best at what you do. Make sure that you know your tools like the back of your hand and know what they can and cannot do. And do not be limited and only do a rescue just one way remember that what the book says is just a guide line on how to do it. And always remember that you are there to help a person not further injure them.

Always talk to the person and tell them what you are doing to allow them to feel more at ease. Plus what Gary said.....training training training!!

Aside from the standard "Principles of Vehicle Extrication" that w all got in the academy, my crew reads Ron Moore's column in Firehouse Magazine, "University of Extrication". You'll find some great evolutions and the latest info on some of the latest models of cars. Tons of great info on electric/hybrid cars. I urge you to check it out. Stay safe!
