A pillar of black smoke was visible for miles after the three-alarm fire broke out about 5:30 a.m. Thursday at the Amtech warehouse near the Houston Ship Channel. KTRK-TV reports the fire may have started with a wooden palate outside the warehouse and spread quickly inside.
The warehouse is filled with plastic, paper and cardboard. Reports from the scene say the roof of the warehouse and three walls have collapsed.
No injuries have been reported.
