Las Vegas police Officer Barbara Morgan says authorities believe the 70-year-old driver suffered what she called a "medical episode" before the 9:30 a.m. crash at the Edgewater Hotel & Casino.
Morgan says the vehicle crashed into the casino near the valet entrance.
She says three casino patrons have been taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. Two others and the driver were treated at the scene.
Laughlin is a Colorado River resort about 100 miles south of Las Vegas.

I am so sorry to hear that people lost their lives and that others were injured. I am just glad that the fire dept was there to be of great assistance as we always do.. Way to go keep up the wonderful work..
What is scary about this is when you think in terms of a hazardous materials release or WMD event, folks driving vehicles can potentially be altered. Their only goal may be to get their family to a medical facility to get help. What you see in this incident can certainly occur at the entrance to a hospital...
Take the time to preplan these critical facilities and look toward installation of k-rails or other means to prevent an out of control vehicle from slamming into emergency room entrances.

I think after a certain age it should be mandatory to retake the drivers exam yearly. If you cant pass the written/on road driving test then your licence should be terminated!
