12 Firefighters Injured When Brooklyn Engine, Ladder Collide Responding to Alarm

NEW YORK - Several New York City firefighters have been injured in a thunderous traffic accident involving two New York City fire trucks.

One of the rigs lay toppled on its side after the wreck.

At least one firefighter was trapped for two hours in the smashed vehicle.

A Fire Department spokesman says the accident occurred around 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

Around a dozen firefighters were hurt. Most had minor injuries, but as many as four were more seriously hurt.

Authorities couldn't immediately say what caused the crash.

Good thing there riding in Seagrave fire trucks. Aluminum, would have been a major disaster
Got to drive more carefully guys! I work in midtown Manhattan (not as a firefighter) and sometimes the driving I see is just too aggressive.
