10 Escape Mississippi House Fire, Child Critically Burned
LAUREL, Miss. - Mississippi authorities say a 15-month-old boy received severe burns in a Jones County house fire and has been taken to a burn center in Georgia.
Firefighters say 10 people escaped the home when it caught fire Wednesday night, but the boy was critically burned. He was taken to South Central Regional Medical Center and later airlifted to a pediatric burn center in Georgia.
WDAM-TV said firefighters were on the scene until after 3 a.m. Thursday. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The house was in the Glade community south of Laurel.
