Designed for the person who responsible for starting an ISO program or currently serves in this role. The eight week course covers the NFPA 1521 standard (Chapter Six) for Incident Safety Officers. Topics include: General functions of an Incident Safety Officer, Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services Operations, Technical Rescue, Hazardous Materials Operations, Accident Investigation and Review, and Post Incident Analysis. This course completely meets the current NFPA 1521, Chapter 6 standard.
This course is co-sponsored by Haywood Community College in North Carolina. Therefore, North Carolina resident firefighters pay no tuition and should email admin@openfireacademy.org for the access key. Out of state firefighters pay $60.00.
