The Center for Public Safety Excellence presents the 2009 Excellence Conference as part of its mission to promote continuous quality improvement by providing training and career resource information to the fire and emergency service agencies and personnel that serve communities throughout the world. The mission of CPSE is carried out through its two commissions, the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, and the Commission on Professional Credentialing. Twelve educational sessions will include topics such as:

- CFO/CMO: A Guide to Completing the Designation Process
- Is Your Strategic Plan Community Centered or Self Centered?
- The 7 principles of Writing Highly Effective Self Assessment Manuals
- Organizational Succession Planning

There will also be a special full day on Advanced Standards of Cover utilizing GIS.
