Day #1: Sessions will consist of several case studies of real-life incidents. Case studies will include incidents that OUR INSTRUCTORS had a direct role in the firefighter removal operation. A review of various critical components to firefighter removal will take place. FAST Team size-up and tips to locate missing firefighters will be discussed. Additionally, various methods and options for firefighter packaging and removal will be discussed, demonstrated and practiced. These methods will include drags, carries, lifts and more.
Day #2 - Scenarios: ALL “mayday” scenarios are based on real-life incidents. Most of our “mayday” scenarios are derived from actual fires that OUR INSTRUCTORS operated at. Others have been extensively researched for maximum realism. This realism is then transferred to you as the RIT/FAST team. Scenarios may include anything from missing or lost members in commercial buildings, disoriented members, members trapped above a fire, members caught in a collapse, and many more. You won’t know which incidents you draw until you get there!
