Is there or has there ever been a FD theme restaurant in your area? I can remember in Ocean City, MD a fire dept  theme grill and bar which had the back end of a ambulance for the front door, firefighter video game, anything related to the fire service through out the place. They even had patches from different fire depts around the state and other places.  The next year when I went back the place was gone and a parking lot took its place.

One major fast food franchise thats moving around the country is Firehouse Subs. I have found one of the stores in Fairfax County, VA near a movie theater. I looked inside and the place has the FD items on the wall and the company was started by firefighters.

This company is looking for franchises in more areas of the country.

We have a couple of Firehouse Subs in the two neighboring cities.

In fact, my picture is one the wall at one of them. Problem is, not even that gets me free food. Dang.

I know Howe's cavern well.

It may be worth the drive down from Albany when I visit my parents this summer, who still live in Albany.

We've got one in Washington, DC and one just outside city limits in Silver Spring, MD in MoCo.

The one is DC just opened last year.  It's a nicer, pricier bar/restaurant called Sixth Engine.  It was built into the old fire house of 6 Engine.  http://www.sixthengine.com

The one in Silver Spring is a bit more casual I think.  Though I've never been there myself.  http://www.firestation-1.com/
