does anyone still use the old ranger rubber boots?

Not sure how old you mean, but that's what we're issued at my department. I wouldn't call them old though, oldest sets are probably 6 years old.
Some members of my department use new rubber boots from a variety of manufacturers. Most of the members purchase their leather boots of choice and keep the rubber ones for hazmat, station chores, or simply turn them in to Supply.
I wear a personal pair of Black Diamond X2's - IMHO the best fire boots you can get.
i wear the thorgood hell fire boots but my spare gear has the ranger boots that look like you would wear them to the barn
I have both but its been a while since I heard them called that. I will go no further.
The only rubber boots I will put my feet into are the 3/4 boots I use when doing non-fire instruction at the academy. Buy yourself a good pair of leathers and your feet will thank you.
