Christchurch has been hit with another quake.

Unlike last years quake, this one has taken 65 lives and this figure is expected to rise. Urban rescue teams and paramedics being sent from Auckland and other major cities. Help also coming from Australia. Offers of help from the UK and Japan have also been received.

we are just waiting to see if they are goin to activate more taskforce members and other specialist rescue teams from all over the country , should know soon

We've been seeing a lot about the "Darkest Day" on the news. Our condolences to the injured and to the families of the lost. Hope our brothers and sisters working to make rescues and recoveries will stay safe in the days ahead.

Our area just got asked to supply a crew for possible deployment. I missed out because i don't have a passport. We have crews eager to get out there and help where they can.

I got a pre-deployment alert from Globalmedic.

Globalmedic here in Canada offered assistance and we are just waiting for the official word.

I don't think I will be able to make it on this response team (no vacation time left from my regular job and my paying job won't pay me while deployed with Globalmedic) but there are ALWAYS more Medics, HUSAR FF's, Doctors, Nurses, water purification techs than they can send volunteering to go.
