Children Discovered Padlocked Inside South Carolina Trailer Fire

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Greenville police have charged a man and a woman with unlawful neglect of a child after investigators say they locked three children in a mobile home that caught on fire.

The Greenville County Sheriff's Office said 31-year-old Angel Gilliland and 42-year-old Alberto Rodriquez-Carrera were arrested Tuesday.

Arrest warrants say Gilliland is the mother of a 9-year-old, 13-year-old and 16-year-old who were padlocked inside the mobile home.

Deputies say the children broke out a window to escape the fire and suffered minor injuries. All three were taken to a hospital for treatment and are in the custody of the Department of Social Services.

Firefighters had to use bolt cutters to get into the home and extinguish the fire that started near the kitchen stove.

i'm speechless.....
i hope that there is enough public outrage that the prosecutor has to do something.
I was wondering that myself, Kevin.
It seems that the fire started after they left. That's what I understand from the news articles.
Amen.
I am happy that the children escaped on their own and are safe. The "parents" will get what GOD instore for them. I hope the children are given a chance to stay together when they go to Social Services. This is sever mental trauma for these children. Like some one already said GOD takes care of the innocent.
shouldn't god have prevented that from happening in the first place?
And what about other fires where children died? god happen to be busy at that moment?
Ya made me choke on my coffee.... But nice comment....
Don't start that debate Jack- it'll turn ugly really quickly!

Then again do it- it'll make for some fun reading.....

Lutan,

The holiday season fast approaches, I'm sure we'll see a repeat of the last couple years "discussions", which always makes for fun reading.
:-)
Maybe Heaven is unionized now and God was on his mandated break.
I think technically that god would be considered as management so union mandated breaks wouldn't apply to him. As management he may instead have been out of the office and on the links. Which still would explain his inattention.
