A city of 80K protected by 15 per shift, and has to rely on mutual aid just to do day to day ops because of the Mayor's cutbacks...
Now he's having the fire companies followed and videotaped because he is accusing them of dogging it to calls... and is tacitly accusing the firefighters of arson in a couple of mill fires ( some of which drew mutual aid from as far as Westford and Ipswich some 25 miles away as the crow flies, much more via roads)?
Wanna bet that the camera crew is made up of his family members on the City payroll?

The Union Pres. There needs to get the IAFF involved. Door to door information. Not to mention letting the Mayors phone numbers slip out to the IAFF..So we all can call him mostly at 2 or 3am.
Can the Mayor say..Impeachment? That's what the tax paying voters in Lawrence need to do.

Good ol dirty politics here....attempt to take focus off of YOUR vacation, and shift focus to the fire dept? So what type of experience in fires do these so called "volunteers" have anyway. Slow to respond? So do we have a local elected official advocating speeding and reckless driving? I would love to see that report.
Secondly, what do these folks even know what the fire dept even does. "Ahh geez mr mayor, the FF's just waited around until the other dept got there before doing anything" Yet these idiots probably don't have a clue. It is like a small dept saying they can meet response times because a chief or duty officer goes direct, yet an actual FF rig arrives 5 to 10 minutes later.....not too much one can do without resources.
