CARLISLE, Iowa - According to a police report, Carlisle Fire Chief Scott Burger appeared to be drunk when he responded last week to a 911 call from a man whose wife was going into diabetic shock.

According to the report, a Carlisle police officer who confronted Burger after the incident said Burger admitted to violating department policy by drinking two beers while on duty.

It also says a breath sample indicated that Burger's blood alcohol was almost twice the legal limit.

Officers who were at the scene said Burger did not seem to be helping the woman effectively.

Burger, who has been placed on administrative leave, has not commented on the incident.

Oh no he didn't!
oh yes he did
hmmm Can two beers really put a guy over TWICE the legal limit? Either he is lying, or he drank 2 Canadian beers, (equivalent to .. oh nevermind lol ) I could be wrong, but something doesn't sound right here. Anyway, yes, SHAME SHAME fn SHAME!
On the bright side, he sure is dedicated.
I'm sure he wasn't so think as they drunk he was.

Perhaps, the two beers he consumed were 40s?

I am wondering though, are people born this stupid, or do they have to work at it?
I take it no one is buying the "dedicated" angle?
Ahh man WTF!!!! Way to lead by example!!
Dedicated to drinking, perhaps.
I don't think there was much doubt that the guy is (or was) or About to be "was", dedicated. Its apparent that the guy lived for the service. So much so that even at his worse, he felt he could do some good. Hopefully something for the young up and comers to contemplate. No matter what you achieve throughout your career, it can all be destroyed or tainted, by one bad decision. Sad really, in so many ways!
OH MY GOSH ! This must be the first time in the history of the fire service since the beginning of time since the cavemen discovered fire that this has happened. I have never heard of something like this before. A firefighter being drunk, what a shame. He must need some counciling after this episode. What's next, firefighters fighting fires drunk?

My response is satirical b-t-w....
So if I filter out the satire (sarcasm?):

"OH MY GOSH ! yawn This must be the first time in the history of the fire service since the beginning of time since the cavemen discovered fire that this has happened. It happens all the time, chillax I have never heard of something like this before. I hear about it all the time, your point? A firefighter being drunk, what a shame. Meh! Did he get the job done? He must need some counciling after this episode. He'll be fine once he sobers up. What's next, firefighters fighting fires drunk? Been there, done that, no big whoop.

Of course, MY filter may not be perfect but it is the way I would interpret you statement. I could be wrong.
You didn't need to create a satirical response to my satirical response. Do you know what satire is, or do they not allow that at your department? If that's the way we want to play the check me out...

So if I filter out the satire (sarcasm?):

"OH MY GOSH ! yawn (are you tired from critiquing other peoples comments?) This must be the first time in the history of the fire service since the beginning of time since the cavemen discovered fire that this has happened. It happens all the time, chillax (is that English?) I have never heard of something like this before. I hear about it all the time, your point? A firefighter being drunk, what a shame. Meh!(once again my questioning of your grasp on the English language) Did he get the job done? (obviously not if he was arrested) He must need some counciling after this episode. He'll be fine once he sobers up.(obviously not since he's getting charged with a D.U.I. plus any other charges being levied by his department) What's next, firefighters fighting fires drunk? Been there, done that, no big whoop.(really, the citizens in the town you respond in must be happy to know they have drunk firefighters coming to their homes and other emergencies)

So you see dummy, that's what satire is. Have a nice day, bye-bye
