Hello brothers and sisters, my dept is starting a tech rescue team and loooking for input on gear as well as a vehicle to purchase, looking for input, ie rope, com gear, rigging gear, safety gear for low angle high angle confine space, swift water, haz mat and the best means to transport such equipment. Any and all input would be helpful. Grants that are out there for such teams as well.

Thank you, Be safe

MIke, shoot me an email, jason@jbrescue.com. I have extensive information on this topic. I am highly involved with several tech teams equipment situations, as well as my own. I can also help you make your money go farther to get everything you need.

Jason
Why not get local training and test different types of equipment during the training? Then you begin to have a basis for what you need in your area and you get supervised practice in your rescue environment.
What do your job stats say? Are you getting more HAZMAT vs confined space calls for example?

You could spend a huge amount of money on so much of this gear, but if your stats are saying otherwise, spend the bare minimum on some areas and focus more heavily on the common ones.

HAZMAT for example can costs massive $ to set up, but if you're getting mroe calls for rope rescue then spend some of the money on things like Arachnipods or Vortex's, etc
Mike,

Let me know what info you need and what gear you're looking for. Anything I can do to help.
