One department I run with uses Hurst, and the other one I run with uses TNT. Both are good, but the TNT seems to be alittle lighter, and easier to handle.
my departement uses hurst tools we have 3 sets of them
Im my dept. we have to Rescues one has Hurst tools the other has lukas. The lukas are lighter but the hurst IMO are much better
We are using a, spreader , jaws. a combo tool , and a ram all hydrolic.. all hurst. Were really well equipt. But our small town tends to go to other communities to respond in crisis sitiations.
We use Holmatro tools on all our Rescue Pumps and Heavy Rescues. Easy to use and easy to interchange on big calls when they are all the same. Great tools, although we have broken the tips on the cutters the odd time cutting nader bolts.
We have AMKUS and we are verry happy with them.
We use Holmatro and have been very pleased. They are generally lightweight but durable.
One department I run with used TNT sometimes it seems like they have no power to get through what you need to get through. The other deparment has all Holmatro and we have never had a problem with them
We used Amkus for about 10 years, then this year we bought a TNT set. It's a little lighter than the Amkus. FYI, we tried all of the tools on the market on an old school bus and found that Amkus was the only cutter that would NOT cut the reinforced side pillars. Not to slam Amkus, that's just what we found.
Our Dept. and the neighbouring dept that we run mutual aid for mvcs with both have Holmatro (cutters, spreaders and ram). We've (I think or it might have been the other dept) broken one set of cutter blades, but I think that was just from misuse.. we also have zmags and some not so often used manual spreaders and air bags for lifting (don't think we've had a call where we've needed them yet)..
Our department uses holmatro hydrolic tools and air bags.
brian we use the AMKUS Res-Q System,we love it !
