leather is a part of the fire service and buried in deep tradtion. i where a n6a houston in with a 4 inch visior and a n6a houston with borgs. i have worn a n5a new yorker. all are heavy helmuts but if you fell the need to wear and spent that money then great. i will always wear it being a thrid gen ,firefighter, i feel it is one of the last things that any one can take from me as a thing from the past. price wise all leather helmuts will cost around 400- 500 hundred dollars. paul con way makes a lighter helmut call the heritage it is leather . but you should check your depts. rules on buying your own gear and the standard that they set . in my town right now only n6a's are allowed so before you spend checked . the n6a is got a better crush rate and wieght but is worth the price, check the shows out to find a good deal . good luck
