"Does God Have Enough Hands...?" (Written 17-Sept-01 by: B.A. Ellis)

Who of us can ever forget that terrible Tuesday morning of Sept 11th, 2001? I was not yet a firefighter at that time, and had not even ever really thought of becoming one, But looking back, I think perhaps, it was a seed, one of many, planted in my heart, that played a role in my becoming a firefighter. Who can ever forget the loyallty, dedication, and bravery of our Brothers/Sisters who got "that call," and those we lost that day? I often write poems and songs etc & have since I was about 7 years old actually, But the following one I wrote on 17-Sept-01. I share it now in hopes it will touch and inspire everyone who reads it, But also because somewhere every day, a firefighter is laying his/her life on the line to help someone else, often being injured or even selflessly giving their own
life willingly, Because it comes with the job. Let us never forget, we are there to make a difference, and we do. We are not in it for personal recognition, "atta boys", glory, fame, or reward. We are in it because it is who we are and it is what we do. May God bless all my fellow Bothers/Sisters who are out there each day getting it done. Keep up the good work and be safe out there!

DOES GOD HAVE ENOUGH HANDS...? By: Brent A. Ellis 17-Sept-01

"DOES GOD HAVE ENOUGH HANDS.....?"

Indeed he does, God was there among the living and the dead,
He carefully held and carried each sould from the chaos and dread,
He held the towers in place till those who would live, could flee,
And he personally carried the souls of the dead and dying, to eternity.

DOES GOD HAVE ENOUGH EARS:

Indeed he does, God heard each cry of pain and despair,
God heard every mourner's cry that rose like the smoke, that filled the air,
He heard and hears the sobs of a nation violently rent apart,
And the anguished wails of a parentless child with a broken heart.

DOES GOD HAVE ENOUGH EYES:

Indeed he does, God saw the pain, destruction and fear,
God saw the firey flames, and he saw every single tear,
God saw the heartbeat of both, the evildoers, and the good,
And he saw the raw courage and bravery of the heroes, who did all they could.

DOES GOD HAVE ENOUGH LOVE:

Indeed he does, God felt every heartache, fear and every pain,
God is heare, ready to give us strength and comfort, and to lessen the strain,
He has abundant love enough, to heal the hurt, He'll give all he can,
He has enough love to unite us unto him, and to make this nation again stand.

NOTE: This poem was inspired by a New York newscast in which the reporter told of a mother who had lost her husband in the World Trade Center attacks, & had to explain to her then five year old daughter, "That God would reach down into the rubble and lift daddy's spirit to heaven." It was reported that the child then asked her mother, "Does God Have Enough hands?"

Dedicated with love, heartfelt prayers, & respect to victims lost, their families, The heroic rescue workers, Our military forces, and the greatest nation on Earth. God Bless America!

Brent, I too share my heart with words of enlightenment. We said and written. The heart of God was displayed for all to see. Its still the same today as it was back then. With hands, ears, eyes and a heart to render his love and healing to us all. Thanks for sharing Bro.
