I agree with all of these safety comments and lack of productivity. These guys are doing nothing for their job security or welfare.

I like how they cut a (for lack of a better term) "hole" directly in front of the ladder and it appeared to be the ONLY ladder too????? It is a nice change to see those guys actually wearing a B/A even though most of them still weren't breathing air. There is typically more people on the roof during most fires they have, so this was better?

A chainsaw?..How about a cutters edge? any worry about cutting the rafters that may support you and the other men that are around you?/

well, on the bright side, I was expecting one guy to fall through. I thought that was the jist of this video. I would guess about 1200 extra pounds on the roof...and for what?
At least they had the ladder a few rungs higher than the eves. Saw seemed to be sharp enough. Nice apparatus too. IMHO the helmets are kinda sorta a little goofy looking..but I heard they were good ones.
ok next!

Wow, I thought vertical ventilation was to remove the super heated gases in order for the attack lines to get to the seat of the fire. The only thing I see in this video is a group of truckies standing on a roof and one guy cutting a bunch of useless holes, (notice not a wisper of smoke coming out). I'm sorry but this just looks like a waste of manpower and unnecessary damage to the building.

Where's the roof ladder.
