Build a rig like an upside down "T". In the base shaft, you can put sheet rock, build a small brick wall, whatever. Then have your firefighters attempt to get through. You can use any other opbsticle, and you can also do it blindfolded. Better to learn when its safe then a first time in a structure fire.
