1 year pool lifeguard, 1 year surf lifeguard, 3 year loadmaster, 27 year firefighter, AA degree fire science, many, many classes of water rescue, haz-mat, wild land, rescue systems, wrote rescue operations with personal water craft and ao-wrote swiftwater boat operations for California State Fire Training. Co-wrote water rescue first responder. Years of continued research in water rescue techniques and operations.
I'm a water rescue freak. Since the fire service has entered into the water rescue I have been trying to get firefighters to respect water and its danger much like we are taught in a 24 week academy. However arrogance and invincible young firefighters don't understand that they can truly become engulfed in liquid with no oxygen and perish. So, I continually think of different training ideas and applications to apply water rescue training to bring on reality without danger.
