Why I Joined Fire/EMS: My Brother was in a car accident in 2003. He Hydroplaned hitting a power pole. Had it not been for the quick response from a volunteer fire dept. and them keeping him from getting out of the truck for 2 hours while waiting on the power company to arrive to shut off the power to the lines around his truck, my brother would not be alive today.
