I am a 27 year old wife and mother. I am a volunteer firefighter and an army wife. My husband and I are both involved in the fire department. My husband is also involved in the National Guard. I love being a full time wife and mother.

Why I Joined Fire/EMS

I joined the fire hall when I was 14 because my father has been in the fire department since he was in his early twenties and he thought it would keep me busy and out of trouble. I have stuck through ever since.

Why I Love Fire/EMS

I love to help others who are in need.

Top Issues Facing Responders:

I know for me being a women I have had alot of problems with older guys thinking that its no place for a women. The way I look at it is I can do it just as good as a man. Also we dont get alot of respect for what we do untill people need us.
