I am 27 a now single mother of two children. The love of my life perished in the line of duty on December 30, 2006. Due to the chiefs careless and poorly thought through actions. The decision to take him into the fire that day left our family with questions and broken hearts. My children ask for thier father everyday and I can't bring him back. How do you tell your three year old that dada died and is never coming home. Two years and I still have a hard time telling him. I went to EMT Basic and I am soon going to Medic school and then nursing. I have learned that never go without telling someone you love them. They may leave and never come home again. I love you Phillip Wayne Townsend forever and ever faithfully.

Top Issues Facing Responders:
Safety..... We are having too many LODD'S. Think about it. Think about your surroundings and what is ahead. If you know something is too dangerous please leave it be and think of yourself.
