My Dad was with FDNY I took the test in the late 80's. I wrote in the high 90's and shocked the time keepers on the physical. My Dad had hooked me up with a pre class, jump rope and a 40# weight vest. I lived in a six story walk up on 65th Street at the time. So I would go from the ground floor to the roof with the vest on multiple times a day. My written was not high enough to make the first class. I did get to take my meds, signed in the big leather book. Looked back through it to find my Dads signature. That was awesome! In the end by the time I got called I had moved to Indiana. Recently I started to volunteer with the local fire house.
Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
