well i think that only thing i have a problem with is my gloves, the smalls were 2 small and the mediums r a lil big so it's sometimes hard for me 2 grip things and work with the tools rite. other then that my bunkers fit great
please visit my site www.facesofthebrave.com I would like your help in distributing this artwork to the world. Please respond to me at randysoard@hotmail.com
Adel I was fortunate in that right after I got on the dept., we orderd new gear and were measured for good fit. As far as female station wear and polo's, etc., try www.galls.com or www.hero247.com. Both of these companies sell women's sizes, and hero247 is very reasonably priced. Hope this helps.
Hey Adel, when I get my gear (It's been a process with waiting for my physical results to get back and such) I'll let ya know. I will be getting gear thursday or getting fitted for gear because they don't think they have any that will fit me! lol. I'm so small. but my gf who works for Denair fire in Cali, she had to et womens structure boots cause the mens kept slipping off! we have narrower feet, so i know i'll be doing the same! and gloves ive found is an issue too so far, none of thiers fit me...going to have order me some gloves as well for sure!
hey sorry it has taken so long to get back but my main thing is my gear is HUGE and i would really like some that fits good so that is the main thing for a female firefighter they shouldnt be able to fit a whole nother person in their gear :)
merry christmas and happy new year to u n ur family hope u have a good one!!! please wish ur fellow brothers and sisters in the brotherhood a happy new year for me thanks!
Hi Adel,
I usually dont have any problem with gloves as there are men that I work with with smaller hands than me!. With uniforms in Australia where Im from, we have uniforms in both male and female sizing... both dress uniforms and turn out gear, so its not really an issue. Sometimes the turn out gear is male fitting but can be adjusted slightly to fit females. Or wearing braces helps. For the smaller framed females gloves and uniforms can be an issue however. But then uniforms are usually made to order or adjusted accordingly. Helmets are usually an issue, however we can buy them ourselves off a supplier if we either have a bigger or smaller head compared to normal. Hope this has helped

i'll be more than happy to pass on what i know. if u want, send me your email or yahoo im and i can let you know what gear i really like. talk to u soon. stay safe
Thuragood leather boots are awesome boots. Also I have found that Globe Fire gear fits better than any other that I have used. I have the same problem with gloves but some of them come in extra small and that seems to help.
Adel, I have found that firedex gloves are best when short fingers are an issue. If the problem is slender hands then I'd suggest trying a pair of rescue gloves under the structure gloves. My morning Pride jacket and Pants fit me very well. As for my boots my favorites are black diamonds. They are a bit more slender than others I've tried.
Hey Adel
How are you doing? Thanks for the comment on my profile! Hope your liking it on the site! Anyway hope all is well n hope to hear from you soon!
I wish they would make gear specifically for women I have yet to find gloves or pants that fit properly I've been in for 6 yrs n still haven't found much of anything for female firefighters other than firefighters wife n stuff like that
hey hon i really wouldnt know i am a firefighters wife im not a firefighter my self sorry i know im not any help to you i hope you the best in finding the answers your looking for
Ummm....not wanting to marry a stranger....but my wishes for you to find what you are looking for....just ehre to get to know people and share stories - learn from experiences. Be well Brother.
Hello back to you! Hope you are well. At some point, I will have to discuss with you the differences between Canadian and European firefighting standards and experiences. I think it will be interesting to hear how you do things with your department, and how they compare with mine. Stay safe!
Sorry it took so very long to get back with you. You had posted on my page many months ago about clothing issues that I to had encountered in this field. These are the ones that I've managed to find. The top link is my personal favorite because of the many pockets. However they do come close to the belly button. But if you want something lower the second link isn't bad.
And these are my FAVORITE boots. I got them at Dicks Sporting Goods. They are "men's" however a simple sizing can determine what size a woman would need. These things never hurt my feet or pinch. And there wasn't any "break in" time either. They were comfortable from the first time I put them on. And they provide EXCELLENT ankle support while being flexible for bending. I have had mine for three years now so they are also long lasting. My only complaint is the laces seem short for a taller boot. However, they do zip on the sides which is nice for those times when you need them on NOW for a call.
