andn i believe that all the trucks went east first cuz it was east of our firehouse and there our some back roads (good old upstate NY) that can get us to certain things quicker!
  • Royce Terry

umm from what i heard today it was an outside wood stove that caught a tarp on fire which cought the wood on the one side of the (open garage) on fire then it was a burning mess from there i go to school with the girl whos garage it was and she said by the time we pulled up it was alrady falling down and she siad there was about 100 piles of wood that was destroyed or whats the term piles or pallets of wood
  • Royce Terry

like the girl said god darnit now i half to work 4 times as hard to get all new wood and restak it.

Yeah I made that one. As far as I know no one was hurt. It first went up Friday night a couple weeks ago, made a good hit on it and the house would have been repairable. It was actually Caz's call. We got sent back home, and the next morning got popped for a rekindle there. By the time someone called it in and everyone got there, it was fully involved and not salvageable. I think the home owners might have been home on Friday night when it first went up but they got out. I never heard what the cause was of it.

    Hi,

As I understand it, the fire started in E2 and spread to the ambulance. No one was there so it's being investigated to see what happened. Started around noontime.

    Take care
  • Al Heath

Good to hear from you, been a lot of years since we buffed Syracuse on the south side.

    Hi,

    Take care.

    Jane
  • DoubleH..Harry

  • SMOKEnPipesJim

Hi ya, It took me a few minutes to recall the name Just because you asked of course Because this is "public" Idontlike toname drop, you know , But his last was Curran which I most likely mispelled but forgive me it was 30 years ago,,..lol sometimes I think I spend way too much time on this thing.. Its hard to not step in when you read some of this "new age" crap the brainwashing the "safetyfags" got us doing.. I rode open cabs and "riot cabbed" ALF's and It makes me sick when we are turning out and snot nosed asks me to close my window cuz its cold out The other night returning from a box, we caught a good whiff, turned aound and pinned it down found a woodstove in a commercial workshop the stove pipe was clogged and cherry red, twenty minutes "in the cold" at midnight is easier then 6 hours chasing fire across a divided block building 200 x 400 with 9 buisnesses out of buisness..lol hehehe
  • SMOKEnPipesJim

I am pretty sure his name was James, at the time, 1978,79 he was a Rescue1 loo.... much of our discussion (s) were based on early bail outs techniques and potential for using and teaching on a simple level....Not sure how long he remained on 1's I was under the impression he stayed quite a few years, but if he made Captain and beyond,..Oh if you were refering to my anology of the Cairns story, and "meeting standards" There is definately a LOT of truth to it, including the true Leather Forever Movement
  • John M. Scheibel

  • Trevor Wendt

well this is trevor wendt. i am a jr ff at cambri VFC. i saw your inquiry about what happened. further investigation determined that the wiring harnes was rubbing against the steering column and then all heck broke lose. SO we have about a million bucks worth of damage. thank god we just upgraded to the better insurance policy
  • Tom

Our old Mack is late 1970's 75' platform. The arial has been inspected every year, still in great working order. We just got a deal that we couldn't pass on for a newer 100' platform so now we're looking to sell the old one. We are still working the truck once a month to keep everything in working order on it.
  • Mike

hello, just to give you a heads up on the last comment you left me about our mack arial. I just found out today that they are taking bids on it. basically the highest bid gets it. and another heads up as of now it's only at $8000.
  • Mike

it is thru our board of commissioners.
