I'm still in TX. This is my second 30 day detail here. They asked me if I want to come back for a third 30 day detail when this one is over, that will be May 10th. I don't know if I can come back or not. I have to get my physical exam & take my pack test so I can get my new red card. I don't make myself available as a Radio Operator in the summer & fall. I like going out on the line a lot better than sitting in an office, but nothing else is going on right now so $ is $.

hangin with my friends. we dcided to play in the rain n then found some mud in the back yard to play in and there was no backyard light so one friend went to go get a flashlight n i didnt realize he was standing bhind me n i ran right into it. its gettin WORSE it keeps popping out of place....im not suppsed to b liftn nething n i have been. i have 2 go c the orthopedic dr but i cant get in til june 20

Hey Jeremy , I've been to DPSST in Salem but not for Fire training . I spent two and a half weeks there for the 911 Dispatcher Academy . I did see the tower while I was there . My Wife just got back after being there for over a month and a half for her Deputy training . The trailer was cool , this was my second time through . I also went through a simulated aircraft back in Canada .

well the collarbone is getting there. ive been out for a few weeks now. i went yesterday to c the orthopedic dr.....im out for another 6-8 weeks. i have to go back n c him for a checkup in 4 weeks. he did say tht i cracked my collarbone, n then i had a previous fractured shoulder tht i didnt no about n it didnt heal right...whn i cracked my collarbone, it sprained my shoulder n strained my shoulder muscles. im not supposed to be doin any lifting of any sort but my job requires me 2. chief wont let me on the fire ground....thts understandable but i dnt c y i get B****** at for goin on an ambulance call....no lifting is involved.....thts the drivers priority of gettin the pt in and out of the rig. sooo i definitly made it worse tho...i had to finish my FF2 practicals so i could take my state certification exam last night. LET ME TELL YOU I WAS IN SOOOO MUCH PAIN! we did fire extinguishers n falshover simulator. i am so upset! i failed my emt twice now. one more chance n then i have to retake the whole thing over agian! my ff2 exam last night was really easy....the guys thought it was hard! well i best be gettin back to work now. u stay safe out there!

I've been in TX on & off since Feb. They are really dry so they have had a lot of wildfires.

We have had a lot of fires in South TX. We have one right now that is in Brooks county SW of Kingville that is 1310 acres. The dozers are trying to get a line around it. They will be working all night I'm sure. I'm on day 26 of a 30 day detail. I'm getting tired, but I'll be home Monday so I can get some rest. I get 48 hrs of R&R then I can go back out again.

Were the fires all structure fires or brush fires also? That's a lot of fires in a short period of time. We had 7 stucture fires in a 72 hr. period a couple of years ago. It was right at Christmas also, that made it really bad because people lost all the presents that were under the trees for the kids. I got a lot of stuff donated from the Freecycle group. They have been wonderful.

I'm back in TX again. I've been here a little over 2 weeks now & we've had a lot of rain in the past couple of days so they are shutting the office down. I'll be flying home tomorrow. I hate that I didn't get my month in. It's costing me about $3000. Oh well, maybe we'll have a hurricane. Isn't that terrible of me to say? I don't wish anything bad on anyone, I just would like to get out one more time before the season is over.
