Check out Roll Call Groups and put some info about your Fire House in... Like to hear what your station is like, what you have as well as for number for firefighters as well as number of calls. Pass it around to your Firefighter Friends too....Easy way to located this group is go to my site and look at the bottom left. Short cut if you have a hard time locating this.

    Enjoy, and stay safe!

I found out last night the safer grant app. deadline has past but your company has untill the 30th of this month to apply for the fire prevention and saftey grant! They should be able to ask for money to upgrade or replace airpacks there!
  • ENGINECREW CAPT. aka Pres.FHMC

    I'll do that.

no trouble, I am on the FEMA mailing list, we just got a notice yesterday that there is still time to apply for that one.

Morning Jonathan, thanks for the comment on my jellyfish blog. I felt bad for the guy but couldn't help laughing alittle and appreciating that my day wasn't so bad, lol. I knew I had to pass it on. Take care and stay safe.

I may be wrong, but if your state doesn't have Fed OSHA, there is still a state organized Safety and Health Administration. We do all have to take care of each other but when we are battling the devil, we can't pay attention to everything. Being a safety officer myself and having been cast in that roll long before I was even a fire fighter may have my sense of "safety" skewered but it is an important part of a FD to have someone taking charge of "looking out for everyone". Good luck.

    Jonathan,
You will never regret your decision if you love firefighting. I have done this over 38 years between volunteer and paid and I still get the same rush. Work hard and have fun and stay safe. You can't buy a job like we have.
  • Kevin Burks

The only ones that were overworking it today was a neighboring FD that had 3 grass fires at one time. So we were toned out for mutual aide and ended up driving 42 miles round trip . but we did what we had to do to help out another department.

    Thanks jonathan, you to brother.
  • Kevin Burks

our coverage area is about 165 miles with most people living in the county. We only have a population of 636 that live in our small town. so i would say most of our calls are out in the county . be safe
  • Kevin Burks

Whats up ? Hope yall havent been to busy . We have been too busy for our little dept. the last big fire we had was about 2500 acres. with the help of many other departments we had it out in about 14 hours . talk to ya later
  • FireMouth1990

Hey man, sorry its taken me so long to get back to you but i have just been bussy as hell for the past 3 months. All is well with me, how about your self?
  • Chad Furr

You get more hands on exp in one month than I will in 5 years. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad. Would love to get "busy" for a while though. We have not had a real fire call for about 5 months. just piddly stuff that you can stomp one with one leg. LOL Take care and Keep safe. Maybe if I get down that way will look you up and see how the "bigboys" do it. LOL
  • Chad Furr

thanks for the add hope to see you around tcss
