Two teenage girls were stricken with what was believed to be carbon monoxide poisoning early today at a West Seneca house, police said.
The girls, both 16, were having a sleep-over in a closed basement room that also contained a boiler. Someone checking on the girls about 8:30 a.m. found them unresponsive, said West Seneca police Lt. David L. Szmania.
The girls, one of whom lives in the home on Windmill Road, were being treated at Mercy Hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.
National Fuel Gas workers found high carbon monoxide levels in the basement, Szmania said. The couple who own the home and their son also reported symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning and were being examined, but their conditions were not considered as serious.
Hey Dave, I hope the weather isn't to horrible up there. We had snow here on Saturday and Sunday and we had a structure fire on Saturday in -1 temps with windchill. That was fun. Water problems and all. I got to sit and listen from home, it sucks sometimes to have youngins that aren't old enough to watch themselves. Oh well, that will come in a couple more years. I will talk to you later hopefully... Stay safe... :o)
Dave, Your daughter is beautiful. I can't imagine what your family has been through over the years. I hope Brianna stays in remission until a cure is found. Good luck to you and best wishes.
Dave- looks like you fellows had your hands full the other day at the hotel fire. Weather was not th best for playing in. Glad to hear no one was injuried. Too bad that was a great place
