Other Past or Current Departments and Organizations
Charlotte (VT) Fire and Rescue Services
Vergennes (VT) Area Rescue Squad
Bolton Valley (VT) Ski Patrol
Vermont State Firefighters Association (President)
My Training:
FF1
FF2
State Fire Instructor
HazMat Technician
About Me:
After 20+ years in EMS I am now concentrating on Fire Service (the departments are seperate in my town), as I found there are not enough hours in the day for both. I am president of our state organization and an instructor for the Vermont Fire Academy. That along with being a member of the State Hazmat Response Team take up most of my "spare" time!
I was also a 911 Dispatcher for various police and fire departments for about 20 years. I have the utmost respect for the tough and underappreciated job that they do!
Day Job:
Gas Company Compliance Administrator
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I started as a ski patroller, following in my father's footsteps. I then followed him into serving on an ambulance. After working closely with the fire service I joined the fire department (and my father followed me into firefighting!).
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the comaraderie throughout the public safety community.
Top Issues Facing Responders:
Recruitment & Retention
Safety and Health of Responders
I went to Windham Regional Career Center in Brattleboro. My instrucors were Capt Peter Lynch now Asst Chief, Lt. David Emery Jr, and Lt. Charles Keir 3. All from the Brattlebor Fire Department.
Good Morning!! Thanks for adding me as a friend! Phoenix NY is near Syracuse we are north of there I've been away from Groton geez for like 18 years now funny thing is my father is retired Navy as well :D Great place Groton Ct :D

Thanks, glad we agree on the Sweden guy. Guess I have a hardass attitude sometimes. But safety issues get me pretty fired up, no pun intended. East Tawas is due west of the tip of the thumb, right on the lake. In fact, by boat it's only 30 miles, but by car, it's about 140 miles!
I Kristy, Farnham is located near from borders... int . 89 north, pass custom... now is 133 north then you pass Bedford and Farnahm is next. This is a small town and look like a US town (It's located on the south-west of eastern township) Form Burlington it take 1 hour and few min more.
Hi there! I found your page, and wanted you to know that you are a true inspiration to those of us, men AND women, who apsire to accomplish so much in the fire service. Thank you, and take care!
Well, Chouteau is NE of OKC by a good few hours. We are actually right where Hwys 69NS & 412EW converge. We run on quite a few MVA's because of our location and run on average about 500 calls per year (it's where wer'e heading due to growth!). BTW- I hope they have fun in OKC; lots of great restaurants there! :)
Before I forget, I've done some class registration coordinating w/ a couple of the guys at the VT. Fire Academy--we've held some classes in Washington County that some VT FD members have attended---good to keep the friendly neighbor thing going....
Thanks for comming to vist Kristy. Stop back anytime. Idon't belive we have any firefighters in ff1 this year but I always seem to run into you somewhere. Justin
LOL, I managed to contain my excitement long enough to get a new tire. Thank goodness for the lifetime insurance, it was nice not having to pay $100 bucks for a new tire!!
Hi Kristy:
I do hope that all is well and you had a good day. Have a really great weekend and look forward to seeing you in the near future. I just registered for the PAD/O course that starts in a couple of weeks at Vergennes Station 1.
