About Me:
After 20+ years in EMS I am now concentrating on Fire Service (the departments are seperate in my town), as I found there are not enough hours in the day for both. I am president of our state organization and an instructor for the Vermont Fire Academy. That along with being a member of the State Hazmat Response Team take up most of my "spare" time!

I was also a 911 Dispatcher for various police and fire departments for about 20 years. I have the utmost respect for the tough and underappreciated job that they do!
Day Job:
Gas Company Compliance Administrator
Why I Joined Fire/EMS
I started as a ski patroller, following in my father's footsteps. I then followed him into serving on an ambulance. After working closely with the fire service I joined the fire department (and my father followed me into firefighting!).
Why I Love Fire/EMS
the comaraderie throughout the public safety community.
Top Issues Facing Responders:

Hi, I'm Steven Jones, Executive Director of the First Response Coalition (FRC - www.FirstResponseCoalition.org.

We're currently working to make September 25th "National First Responder Appreciation Day" and I hope you will support this worthwhile cause.

Join the 6,000 other people who have signed our online petition at www.fixtheradios.org/campaign/nfrad_petition.

After you’ve signed the petition, send a letter to Congress urging them to give our first responders the national day of appreciation they deserve - http://www.fixtheradios.org/campaign/nfrad_petition3

    Thanks!

Thanks, glad we agree on the Sweden guy. Guess I have a hardass attitude sometimes. But safety issues get me pretty fired up, no pun intended. East Tawas is due west of the tip of the thumb, right on the lake. In fact, by boat it's only 30 miles, but by car, it's about 140 miles!

Well, Chouteau is NE of OKC by a good few hours. We are actually right where Hwys 69NS & 412EW converge. We run on quite a few MVA's because of our location and run on average about 500 calls per year (it's where wer'e heading due to growth!). BTW- I hope they have fun in OKC; lots of great restaurants there! :)
