Why I Joined Fire/EMS
Im currently going to school for my intermediate and want go on to become a paramedic. I start fire sciences in the fall. Im a volunteer with East County Fire and Rescue. I just enlisted in the Oregon National Guard and leave for Ft. Jackson in Sept. When I come home I'm hoping to be full time in three years or less :)
Hey Hiedi! How are you? Have you been back up to the station? Let me know if there is anything I can help you with. I have a feeling you are going to just love the fire service! Talk to ya soon!
HIEDI :- hey just thought i would say hi. haven't heard from you in a bit.. so hi. and an feeling free to add me as a friend if you don't minde .
be safe out there
Hi Hiedi welcome to ffn anyways i have a group for firefighters and ems people for washington state..check out my page and feel free to join and post anytime...take care if you want you can add me also to your friends..
Hi Hiedi,
Good luck in your schooling and once your out in the field be safe and remember your path that brought you here, I tell all of my new firefighters that this job is an honor never forget those who have walked before you.
Have a great week
Lt. Marc
Howdy Hiedi,
I just wanted to wish you all the best in going through school and encourage you to never quit or give up no matter how hard it gets or how bad the odds are. We are all here to support and back you in your fight. Take care, be safe and stay warm.
Check out the some of the Groups, I have started up "Close Calls" an area to tell your story of what you did and should not of so others learn. "Roll Calls" this is another group that allows you to tell us about your station and district. "Trainers Corner" is another area that you can read about issues other trainers have or deal with. As well if your not a trainer you can ask questions or state concerns you have. If you have a hard time locating them just go to my site and look at the bottom left hand corner.
Hey there Hiedi! How is it going? Did you do another ride-out? I am really sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I am running a million miles an hour here, trying to finish up medic school and move over to Eastern Wa for my internship. I would love to give you some testing pointers if you still need. Biggest thing is to just take a deep breath and do your best. I am sure you will do fine. So many departments use different tests so the best thing to do is talk to people who have been out there testing. Holy smokes yakky yakky here. Sorry! I hope you are doing well. :o)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Iv been out of commision for a bit. I spent 5 days in the hospital last week having my appendix out. Ill be going thru my email and friend requests soon. Hiedi
Hiedi, So sorry to hear about your hospitilization! Yucko. Which one did you go to? Bummer that I didn't run into you over there. Hang in there and I hope you are back on your feet soon!
I ended up in Salmon Creek, wishing that I had gone to S.W lol. How have you been. I'm STILL waiting to test for Woodland. Im getting a ton of studying in and gearing up for next quarter. Are you still teaching at the training center?
One of our former volunteers and a good friend lives in your area, and I used to do some committee work the the chief and training officer there. Good luck with the medic training!
Hey there chicky poo! How are things going? You get on with an FD? You started any classes yet? Let me know if there is anything I can do to help you. Have a great weekend. :o)
I have some big news. I have gained my affiliation! I'm going to be working as a volunteer at Skamania EMS Search and Rescue! I'm set to go through orientation next week. Its not a full on fire dept but I'm getting closer!
Congrats Hiedi... Once you complete your Medic and Fire Science Program you are going to be easily marketable for a good job, My area like most others are in need of FF/Medics. If fully trained and ready to go to work, they pretty much can pick which department they want to work for.
Stay safe feel free to fdrop me a note if you have a question. Bill

I'm not sure exactly how much but I'm guessing about 40 or 50 lbs. I'm back to work and can weigh a 50' section then. Is that too late?
Good luck to you on your test!
